Heavenly Ski Resort: Top 10 Things To Do!

Heavenly Ski Resort Vacations……Heaven on Earth Top 10!
California isn’t just about palm trees and beaches. You can have a fantastic winter vacation here too! Heavenly Valley Ski Resort is located in Lake Tahoe, California. It has a wide variety of trails for any type of skier (94 total). There are also 30 chairlifts, 9 of which are high speed. Opening day is November 18th 2011. What else does Heavenly Valley Ski Resort have to offer? Let’s find out:

1. One of the best times to visit Heavenly Valley is during the holiday ski season. This year, from December 21, 2011-January 1, 2012, you can stay for 5 nights and 4 days at the beautiful Aston Lakeland Village. Rooms include comfortable beds, fireplaces, and kitchens to make you feel relaxed and right at home. During your stay, you will relish with delight as your watch ice sculpture shows, magicians, and carolers while surrounded by twinkling lights and decorations.

2. If you want to view stunning scenery, then take a ride on the Heavenly Mountain Gondola. This is a “must-do” activity at the resort. The roomy ride is over 2 miles long, but allows you to take in all the sites. Along the way up, you will stop at the observation deck for some great photo opportunities of Lake Tahoe. Do not worry if you’re afraid of heights because the ride is safe and secure.

3. The Tamarack Lodge, which is located at the top of the Gondola ride, opened December 2010. This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating for hundreds of visitors. It features sizeable windows and chandeliers, and tree stump tables. You will be able to choose your meal from the variety of food stations or have a causal drink at Bar 9150.

4. If you love snow tubing, then make sure to visit Heavenly Tubing Hill. Located at Adventure Peak, this activity has several lanes for your tubing amusement. Riders do need to be at least 42 inches tall and 6 years old. This is a great way to let out your inner child!

5. If you need an activity for your younger children then sledding is the way to go. This favorite childhood activity is for kids between the ages of 4 and 6. Don’t worry about not having a sled as they are provided to users. You will be amused in the laughter and happiness that sledding will bring to your kids.

6. If you’re looking to try something adventurous, then I suggest renting a ski bike. Imagine a bike and instead of wheels, you have skis or a snowboard attached. Heavenly Valley is one of the few locations that offer a 30 minute lesson for new riders. The sheer speed of this sport will provide you with an exhilarating experience.

7. At Heavenly Valley you can also try snowshoeing. This is a two hour experience for an affordable price. There are trails for both beginners and intermediates that twist and turn around the trees of the forest.

8. If you prefer to ski at night, then visit the High Roller Night Life Terrain Park. The park features lighted trails and rail jam competitions. A DJ also provides upbeat music to amp you up for you runs.

9. With all of the sport options at Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, there is no shortage of rental shops. There are 12 rental shops in the area, with equipment from top of the line companies for boots, skis, snowboards, and accessories.

10. It’s time to get dressed up! Heavenly does not disappoint when it comes to nightlife. There are several casinos in the area, such as Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Casino. You can try your hand at some poker, black jack, slot machines and more. Plus, there are a number of restaurants and nightclubs in each casino to keep you going into the wee hours of the morning.

Heavenly Valley Ski Resort offers a great selection of day and night activities for you while you visit. There are a number of hotels and lodges available at affordable prices. So if you’re looking for a change of pace, then book you’re trip here. You won’t be disappointed!
