Fall in Aspen
Think spectacular sunshine and crisp warm air. And of course, there’s the magnificent foliage. A September or October visit to Aspen boasts rich fall colors (typically by 3rd week of September you’ll get a glorious display of colorful leaves) and also great travel deals.
Things to Do:
Rub elbows with fellow movie junkies at the Aspen Film Fest, run the Golden Leaf Half Marathon or check out Aspen Ruggerfest. Take a scenic drive or bike and hike through the mountains and valleys.
Aspen Film Fest
Aspen Film’s flagship event is a six-day noncompetitive festival showcasing narrative and documentary features, a dynamic mix of award-worthy fall previews, and acclaimed independent films from the international festival circuit.

Golden Leaf Half Marathon
Runners from across the US will descend upon Aspen, Colorado to participate in the much anticipated Golden Leaf Half Marathon. Chosen by Trail Runner Magazine as one of “America’s 14 Most Scenic Races” and Colorado Runner Magazine as the “Best Half Marathon” in 2008, the Golden Leaf is one of the most beautiful foot races in the Rockies.

Aspen Ruggerfest
The world’s only all-age, full-contact rugby tournament. Champion rugby is on display for four full days, rain, snow, or shine.
Whatever you do — do not leave home without your camera – this is the best time of year to capture magnificent panoramas as the mountains and valleys turn gold.
