Vail, Colorado

vailVail Mountain is a supremely versatile ski destination. The pistes arent just groomed – they’re tailored so that every edge features ironed, corduroy lines. The natural terrain features an abundance of banks, hips, and mellow powder runs, while the amazing funparks and some great tree and bowl skiing are all here and all easy to access.

Roughly speaking, there are three areas to explore: Frontside (where the majority of tree riding is to be found), the famous Vail back bowls, and lastly, Blue Sky Basin. For a small percentage of thrill-seeking skiers, Vail’s slopes might not be steep or long enough (if you’re looking for huge descents, Europe should always be your first choice), but for most mountain users, Vail’s pistes, tree runs, and backbowls make for a fantastic introduction to the mountains. The fact that every blind corner, drop, or potential hazard is pointed out also makes for a safe holiday environment.
